  Darts  
     
  People starting playing darts during the 19th century in the North of England.  
     
  It became a popular game in most pubs around 1920.  
     
  Brian Gamlin, a British Carpenter was responsible for the first numbered dart board which was designed to make it practically imposible to win if you weren't a good shot.  
     
  The 20 was surrounded by the 1 and 5 - the 17 by the 3 and 2 - the 18 by 4 and 1.
