Eating Between Meals

The first measure to avoid children becoming overweight is to avoid eating between meals.

When a child eats between meals he usually just eats a mixture of unbalanced foods which don't help to keep a healty diet and also reduces appetite for the main meal which is usually a lot more balanced.

Try and get the child into a meal routine avoiding sweets, cakes and salty snacks between meals, although he may have access to healthier snacks like fruit or rice crackers.
