Calcium during Adolescence

Experts calculate that during the first 18 years of age 95% of the calcium deposits accumulate in their bones.

Teens between 12 and 18 years of age should consume at least 1.200 mg. of calcium (this is as much as a pregnant woman needs).

Teenagers need a varied diet to reach this goal, specially; pulses, vegetables, nuts ..., they need 3 or 4 rations of calcium a day.

A ration of calcium would be : a glass of milk, 2 yoghurts or 50-70 grams of cheese.
