Stop your Kid's Nail-biting

This is usually an uncontrollable action so there is no point in getting angry or punishing your child for doing so as he/she doesn't usually realise that he/she is doing it.

You should observe your child and work out in what moment they bite their nails more (at school, when he is getting told off, when he plays with other children ..) It could be that he bites his nails due to a stressful moment or action.

If he bites his nails while he is bored or nervous then try keeping his hands occupied with a toy during these moments.

Rather than telling him not to bite his nails try explaining the effects of this action saying things like "If you don't bite your nails there will be a lot nicer"

You can consider offering him a little reward for every day he doesn't bite his nails and don't forget to praise him greatly every day he manages to keep them bite free.
